This website was created to serve as a collection of evidence and materials created by and related to a Connecticut-based cult that was run by Julius Schacknow from the late 1960s until his death in 1996. However, after his death, the cult continued to be run by Mr. Schacknow’s chief apostle Paul Sweetman (who was known as “Matthias” in the cult) until his disappearance in 2004 (and even to this day in 2023, vestiges of followers still exist and believe in his messages)…

Mr. Schacknow was also known as “Brother Julius,” “Julius Christ,” and the “Sinful Messiah.” His followers often referred to him as "the Lord.” Together with his partner, Joanne Sweetman (referred to as “The Holy Spirit”), they were collectively referred to as “The Two Witnesses.”

Links to other websites containing testimonials, interviews, and more can be found here. There are also resources for those who are seeking to leave a cult.

This website and its contents are not an endorsement of Mr. Schacknow and his beliefs, and are provided solely for educational purposes and historical documentation. Links to other articles, videos, and webpages were found and are included as a result of extensive online searches and are themselves presented without endorsement and in no particular order.

Otherwise, the “Heart Pep Talks,” “Rules to Live By,” and documents in the “Museum” and “The Divine Nature” pages are primary sources, actual relics derived from an ex-cult member’s personal collection.
